A Diagrammatic Map of the United States, Illustrator image, 2011
In this map-diagram, each red circle is a state and each line connects states which border one another. Since the map shows the connections between states rather than their physical locations, there are no cardinal directions. It does not include Hawaii or Alaska as they do not border any other state and therefore do not fit into the logic of the diagram. I’m working on turning this into a monoprint, and possibly a screen print after that.
NOTE: Since putting this up, I’ve discovered one error in the diagram. I’ll be sure to correct it before making the print. 100 points to whomever can figure it out.
